On Monday, November 3rd, Tabby and Ahad&Co CPA Firm co-hosted the first Real Estate Professionals Meetup at Hasan Halal Chinese in the Bronx, NY, and the energy in the room was incredible.

We welcomed over 30 real estate professionals, including agents, brokers, and property managers, most of them self-employed, for an evening of conversation, networking, and a hands-on demo of Tabby, the AI-powered bookkeeping app built specifically for independent professionals.

Our co-founders, Ahad Ali, CPA, and Shah Paran, led an interactive session where they walked attendees through how Tabby helps real estate professionals track income, categorize expenses automatically, and prepare tax-ready reports, all powered by AI.

The highlight of the evening was the live demo. Guests watched as Tabby instantly connected to bank accounts and categorized hundreds of transactions from commissions and marketing costs to auto and office expenses, all in real time.

One of the most common questions was whether Tabby could pull past transactions from earlier in the year. The answer was yes and that drew visible relief and excitement from the audience.

“I didn’t realize I could pull all my transactions from January,” one agent said. “That’s a lifesaver.”
“Finally, something built for agents like us,” another added.
“I’m tired of Excel, this is the future.”

By the end of the night, 25+ attendees signed up for Tabby on the spot, with several connecting their accounts right then and there. Every attendee also received an exclusive 50% discount for signing up in person, plus a complimentary Tabby tote bag and T-shirt that were instant hits.

For many self-employed professionals, bookkeeping is often the most frustrating part of running a business. It’s time-consuming, confusing, and easy to neglect, which leads to missed deductions and overpaying on taxes.

Tabby was built to solve this exact problem. Using the power of AI, Tabby automates bookkeeping tasks that normally take hours. It tracks income and expenses, identifies tax deductions, and produces clean, ready-to-file reports, all without needing accounting expertise.

“As a CPA, I’ve seen too many professionals spend weekends sorting receipts or scrambling at tax time,” said Ahad Ali, Co-Founder of Tabby. “Tabby was designed to eliminate that pain completely so you can focus on what you do best: growing your business.”

Event Highlights

The evening started with networking over halal Chinese food and soft drinks, followed by an open Q&A where real estate professionals shared how they currently manage their books. Most admitted to using spreadsheets or manual tracking and were amazed to see how quickly Tabby categorized transactions automatically.

Many attendees stayed long after the event officially ended, connecting with other agents and discussing how AI can simplify not just bookkeeping, but business operations overall.

What’s Next?

This meetup marked the start of Tabby’s November Meetup Series, a month-long initiative to connect with small business owners, self-employed professionals, and gig workers across New York City.

Next up, Tabby will be hosting events for rideshare drivers, accountants, and small business owners, continuing the mission to make bookkeeping simpler, smarter, and stress-free for everyone.

Each meetup is designed to be interactive and educational, not just a product demo, but a space to learn how AI can transform the way independent professionals manage their finances.

The Bronx Real Estate Meetup proved one thing: professionals are ready for smarter tools. They’re tired of spreadsheets, outdated software, and manual tracking and they’re excited about what’s next.

At Tabby, our mission is simple: to make bookkeeping effortless for everyone, from real estate agents to gig workers, so they can save time, lower taxes, and focus on what truly matters: building their business. If you missed this event, don’t worry, more meetups are coming soon. Stay tuned for upcoming dates on our website.
