What is an AI profit and loss generator?

Definition

A subscription manager app finds the recurring charges on your bank and card accounts, lists them in one place with what each one costs, and helps you cancel the ones you don’t want. The better ones detect subscriptions on their own, so you don’t have to remember and type in each one.

What it reads

Transactions from your connected bank and card accounts

What you get

Every subscription, its cost and its next bill date

Setup

About 3 minutes. Connect a bank and Tabby starts looking

Cost in Tabby

Included in the Free plan. No card needed

It finds them

Tabby matches charges to a list of known vendors and watches for anything that repeats at a similar amount. Card or checking account, it all counts.

It adds them up

You see monthly spend, the yearly total at today’s prices and how the money splits between software, advertising and everything else.

It helps you cut

Tabby flags double charges and subscriptions you may not need, then gives you the cancel link or the steps for each vendor.

A list tells you what you pay. Tabby tells you what to fix.

Double charges

When the same subscription bills twice in one period, Tabby points it out so you can ask for a refund.

Ones you may not need

Tabby suggests which subscriptions to cancel and shows what dropping each would save over a year.

Bills coming up

Every subscription shows its next bill date and a countdown. The ones due this week stand out.

Annual renewals

Yearly charges such as domains and memberships get their own tab, so the big ones don’t catch you off guard.

Charges it isn’t sure about

Anything that repeats in three or more months is offered for you to confirm. One click adds it or dismisses it.

Usage-based billing

Charges that change every month, like cloud hosting, are tracked with an average instead of a fixed price.

Spend by category

See how much goes to software, advertising and communications. Phone, internet and utilities are kept in a separate bills list.

Tabby vs. other subscription manager apps.

Most subscription managers are personal finance apps. Tabby is built for people who work for themselves or run a small business.

Pick Tabby if

You’re self-employed or run a small business, your subscriptions sit on business cards and accounts, and you’d like the bookkeeping done at the same time.

Pick Rocket Money if

You want someone to cancel personal subscriptions for you. Tracking is free. Cancellation by their team needs Premium, which runs $7 to $14 a month.

Pick Monarch or Simplifi if

You mainly want a household budget with net worth and investment tracking, and you’re fine paying for it. Neither has a free plan.

Tabby does the searching and keeps the list for every account you connect, then checks again each month. You still decide what stays.

How to find all your subscriptions without an app.

  1. Pull 12 months of statementsEvery card and every bank account. A full year matters because annual renewals only show up once.
  2. Look for repeatsSort by merchant and scan for the same name at a similar amount, month after month.
  3. Check the app storesApple and Google Play list subscriptions billed through them. PayPal has its own list under automatic payments.
  4. Search your inboxTry “receipt”, “renewal”, “trial” and “your subscription”. Free trials that turned into paid plans hide here.
  5. Write each one downName, cost, billing date, which card it’s on and who on your team uses it.
  6. Cancel, then verifyCancel what you don’t need and check next month’s statement to make sure the charge stopped.

For anyone whose business runs on monthly software.

Freelancers and consultants

Design tools, AI tools, a scheduling app, a course you finished last spring. They sit on two or three cards and nobody adds them up.

Agencies and small teams

Someone signed up for a tool, left, and the seat is still billing. One list shows every charge and which account pays for it.

Contractors and local businesses

Scheduling software, listing fees, phone lines and a website builder. See all of it next to your other expenses.

It depends on what you’re managing. If you’re self-employed or run a small business, Tabby’s Free plan finds subscriptions across your business accounts and does your bookkeeping too. For personal subscriptions, Rocket Money tracks them for free and will cancel them for you on its Premium plan, which costs $7 to $14 a month. Monarch and Quicken Simplifi are budgeting apps with no free plan.

Tabby reads the transactions from every bank and card account you connect. Charges from known vendors, such as Zoom, Canva or AWS, are matched to a vendor list. Anything else that shows up in three or more months at a similar amount is offered for you to confirm, so nothing is added to your list by guesswork.

Yes. It’s part of the Free plan, which has no time limit and doesn’t ask for a credit card. The Free plan covers one bank connection and up to $15,000 a year in tracked expenses. If you need more accounts, Standard is $30 a month with three bank connections.

No, and that’s on purpose. Tabby gives you a direct link to the vendor’s cancellation page where one exists and step-by-step instructions where it doesn’t. You do the cancelling, so nothing your business depends on gets switched off by mistake.

When the same subscription bills twice in one period, Tabby flags it and shows you both charges. You can then contact the vendor for a refund with the dates and amounts in hand.

Yes. Yearly charges such as domains, memberships and developer programs have their own tab, sorted by the soonest renewal. Tabby recognizes many of them from its vendor list, so they appear even before a full year of history has built up.

Tabby treats software and services you choose to pay for as subscriptions. Phone, internet and utilities repeat the same way, but they’re listed separately as bills and overhead so they don’t inflate your subscription total. You can move any item from one list to the other.

Tabby is built for business finances. If a personal subscription is paid from an account you’ve connected, it will show up, and you can remove it from the list. For a household budget with streaming services and family plans, a personal finance app is a better fit.

Tabby connects through Plaid with read-only access. It can see transactions and balances, but it can’t move money, charge a card or change anything at your bank. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest with AES-256.

Software and services you use for your business are generally deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses. Tabby categorizes each subscription so it lands in the right place at tax time. If a subscription is partly personal, ask your CPA how to split it.

See what you’re paying for. All of it.

Tabby is a free subscription manager app for people who run their own business. Create an account, connect a bank, and it builds the list for you.
